I feel I have been scammed. Do not believe what Village Estates tell you. I have just lost my 400.00 application fee. This has happened before so this time, I asked all the right questions to ensure that the fact that I am working on a contract basis (full time) was not a problem. I even had the person I dealt with at Village Estates phone the referencing agent to make sure and get back to me. I was told that this is not a problem and encouraged to apply to let a property. 2 days later I was told that they have now changed their minds and that the fact that I work on a contract basis is a problem, so my application has failed. Off course they will keep my application fee money. What I would like to know is how much do they earn from application fees which do not go anywhere? At the end of the day I have paid for a lease contract which, I have now been told, I was never eligible to even see. How much does the referencing process cost them and what happens to the rest of the money of the applications they reject? After all, they include in this application fee money for a contract whihc they will not generate. How does the law allow them to get away with this? I feel I have just been robbed. Village Estates is a rubbish agency. Do not trust what they tell you.

Disgusting! How do you justify charging this much. How much does the referencing process cost and where does the rest of the money go, of those who do not qualify? This I just a scam to cheat people out of money. I have paid for a lease contract which I was never eligible to even see!
