If I could give 0 stars I would. Most expensive agency fees around, and you get LESS than no service for these apparent "agency fees". The referencing process prior to moving in was nothing short of a joke - interrogated both myself and my partner and last minute ended up telling my partner a few days before that he needed to pay his current estate agents extra to provide a reference. Constantly had to send bank screenshots. The moving in day was all left absolute last minute, you can barely ever get through to them on phones or get a response - even on moving in day when you have removal firms and vans etc booked. We were told all day "1 more hour, 1 more hour" until we picked up the keys at office closing time.
Once moved in , flat had several small problems but didn't report them just sorted them ourselves. Every month they ask for you to send rent several days before it's due so it "has time to reach their account" - I've never done this before, and as it is not in the contract, each month we were told our rent was late and had to send proof of payment.
This then caused the landlord to seem to dislike us - this was later confirmed by Paul Craffey the unprofessional and rude manager who told my boyfriend that "if we paid our rent on time the landlord might be inclined to replace our sofa!". A completely rude and inconsiderate man with poor professionalism. We were earlier told in march when our sofa started to fall apart (due to POOR quality) that the landlord wouldn't replace it as she couldn't afford it. We lasted until the end of the tenancy (September) with the broken sofa. Later confirmed by Paul that it wasn't replaced as the landlord received our rent late sometimes - due to their system for some reason needing tenants to send their rent days before in order for it to be on time? Our oven was also broken for over a month at one point.
Their priority is money and landlords. As a tenant, they charge through the nose in agency fees and you receive absolutely NO customer service in return and even the process of moving in (surely what they claim the "agency" fees go towards) was an absolute shambles. Choosing this estate agent was honestly the worst decision we could have made and we couldn't wait to get out. We paid our rent every month, we didn't complain half as much as we should have, and we were spoken to like dirt and could barely even get in touch most of the time. They are happy to interrogate for rent 1 day late, but if you need something from them, it's impossible.
Comment on agent fees
EXTORTIONATE and receive nothing in return
