I was a tenant of SPM for nearly 3 years and experienced numerous problems from day one.

A detailed review will follow in due course, but for now, suffice to say that 1 star is too high a rating.

An example of the shoddy practice from SPM: We moved into a large 4 bedroom property in Edinburgh, but were never advised that the property had 2 separate heating systems, one modern, the other an inefficient 'back boiler' system. This resulted in heating bills almost double what it should have cost. I raised this matter with SPM and they brushed it aside. Now the property is relisted and STILL no mention of the 2 heating systems. Another tenant will find out the hard way when the heating needs to go back on around October and they wonder why only half the house heats up. Totally unprofessional and underhand. John Davidson, owner of SPM, REFUSED to meet me to discuss this shoddy practice!

As both a property owner and former letting agent, I have considerable experience in how a property and tenants should be managed. It is shameful that a company as unprofessional as SPM can continue to operate in this way.

Do yourself a favour and do not rent from these chancers, or, if you own a property, pay a little bit more and go elsewhere. SPM does not act in either the owner's or tenant's interests. Full review to follow.
Comment on agent fees
They make a big deal about not charging tenant fees. This is completely disingenuous, as it;s a legal requirement to not charge fees. SPM aren't doing you a favour or being kind, they have no say in the matter. No letting agents charge fees, not just SPM!
