I move a lot as part of my Job as a Doctor, but have never had to deal with such a bad letting agent. Their fees were huge compared to other agents in the area and fees for referencing, photographing the flat, drawing up contracts etc were exceptionally high. The contract which is around 30 pages long essentially absolves Leaders of all responsibility for anything. The flat was in a pretty poor state when we moved in, and various emails I sent to leaders throughout my years tenancy were ignored despite this being a 'managed flat'. Leaders were very quick to set up utilities accounts on our behalf, but managed to provide readings for the wrong meters giving me all sorts of grief to sort out.
Come the end of our tenancy they were hypercritical of the cleanliness of the flat despite me having paid a professional cleaner of their recommendation to clean it, and as a result deducted 100's of pounds from our deposit, seemingly they have no tolerance for 'reasonable wear and tear'. It took a month to get the undisputed deposit back and I am still fighting to see why they have taken so much of my money.
I would certainly not recommend going to leaders when looking for flats to rent, and I will not be doing so again.
