May 2012. I am astounded by the unprofessionalism of the employees of Douglas Allen. I have been looking for a property to buy in Epping, which was unfortunatly solely marketed by DA. Some of the issues I encountered have been: 1. the Douglas Allen representative not turning up for a viewing when it was twice confirmed before by him on email and by telephone, in fact he had taken a day off and no one was there to cover for him. 2. They kept on getting my details wrong and not passing them on properly regarding my mortgage provider and my solicitor's details. 3. When the surveyor sent by the bank went to inspect the property and the garage, the DA employee did not know which garage went with the property, so I ended up paying for a survey that did not cover the garage because of the incompetence of an employee who did not know what garage went with the property that the agency was supposedly selling?! And it carried on with their referral to a an extortionate lawyer which I declined of course as GBP200 of the exhorbitant cost at least would be paid by me as an introduction fee to DA. 5. Their 'sale progressor' was lacking in professionalism in his dealings with me as a client by not being forthcoming with answers on simple questions and by not being very diligent in his overall demeanour. I am utterly shocked by the unprofessionalism of this estate agent, and I will never, ever recomment use them myself or recommend them.
What agent could do to change your mind?
To change my mind the agent would need to either change their unprofessional staff and bring him some more able individual who actually understand customer facing services and are diligent and intelligent, or invest in training the existing staff who is clearly lacking in many basic areas!

Dear L.C., Many people talk of "going the extra mile" but in reality few of them actually do.
