I rent a property through Edward Barclay and felt compelled to add a review after the brilliant, professional service I received. I dealt with Darren from beginning to end. He was fully transparent with the fees I needed to pay and helped and advised me throughout the process. Having never rented before he explained I needed a guarantor and my dad helped with this. I have now been in my rental for 6mths and Darren has stayed in contact to make sure everything is going well and has ensured any problems are immediately rectified with trusted people he uses to maintain any work that's needed. He has even got me back into my property at 11pm when I locked myself out! My friends were shocked and said their Agent would never do that. I can't recommend darren or Edward Barclay highly enough.

Unfortunately when you want to terminate a rental agreement early that you agreed to for 1 year, there are re-marketing costs involved which is normal practise and it's unfortunate that no new tenant came forward to take over the room. The landlord was also trying to find a tenant. So as is normal Practise you have to continue to pay the rent until a tenant has been found. We had keys in order to carry out viewings as is needed to try and re-rent the property. We did not refuse to hand the keys back, the keys we had were to carry out viewings in order to try and help you exit the agreement early. These are the full and transparent facts and it's unfortunate that you were unable to leave early but this is the risk you take when you sign up to a years agreement.

Never would I use or recommend to anyone.
Of course people are nice when your handing over money but did absolutely nothing to justify additional fees & refused to hand the keys back while I carried on paying the rent for 6 months

unfortunately when we are inspecting a number of properties in a day it is difficult to give precise timings which is why we always have keys to access so that the tenant does not have to take time off work and to avoid disrupting the tenants day. ...

We do not carry out electrical reports, these are carried out by a qualified electrician not employed by U.S., we also are more than happy to discuss any concerns clients have, we do not rob anyone and we consider this comment as slanderous. ...

No fees information available
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
