This agent manipulated my daughter into leaving a large deposit, whilst deciding whether to take on one of his flats. He then refused to pay back what had been described as the 'returnable holding fee' when she decided against it, even though she did so before the stated 'deadline'. His word against hers unfortunately, but I would strongly advise potential clients to be very wary of renting a flat through an agent who employs such misleading and dishonest practices. Avoid.

Dear Co-victim,
I was asked for 1450€ (one month's deposit value) from the citiside office (https://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1273/206516.php) and it seem this office has now gone into liquidation.
The guarantee has been cancelled and I have had no success in calling or emailing them.
It seems the only possibility is legal action.
If you can assist me by telling me :
a) if you have been scammed and if so, how and how much ?
b) if you successfully tried to get your money back and how ?
c) if you failed, what do you plan to do ?

Oliver, unfortunately citiside has gone into liquidation, I suggest you contact the liquidator Edge Recovery (edgerecovery.com) about this. I also recommend you check with MyDeposit about this as they are the deposit protection company that CitiSide used. Your deposit should have been protected so it should be possible to get it back. ...
