Carltons let and manage a residential flat in Islington, on behalf of my wife and me. We have had excellent service from them - Jonathan and Ally in particular. Each time there has been a vacancy they have quickly found good tenants, usually for extended periods. They very quickly reacted to a late rent payment by one tenant and it never happened again. Liaison with tenants has always been prompt and positive and they respond quickly if ever the tenants have an issue that needs attention. They have twice overseen work on our behalf - once following a plumbing leak and again when refurbishment was done between tenancies. On both occasions they did all the necessary work to seek tenders and liaised as necessary with the tradesmen. They went out of their way to be helpful. An excellent service for a fair price.

What agent could do to change your mind?
Be honest in the first place, explain that the landlord spends half the year abroad and this property would be ideal for anyone looking to rent for less than a year.
