My patience with Your Move Has ran out. My overall experience with Your Move has been dreadful and I would urge anyone who is considering renting through them to definitely re-consider. They have terrible communication between branches and if you have a question it'll go through three different departments before you get a lacklustre answer. These are the details of the incredibly stressful situation I found myself in because of renting with Your Move.
I had been living in my property for 4 years and after 18 months the property was sold to a different landlord and then let through Your Move. During my time with them they have been extremely lazy with getting maintenance issues resolved, reimbursing my over payment of rent and getting my damage deposit back. I could never get a straight answer any time I called up with a query and I was often fobbed off with Can I call you back? and never received anything after that.
Me and my flatmate decided to break our tenancy early, due to this we were to pay upfront a total of three months rent (£1,425) until a suitable tenant was found. Due to this cost I made sure that the property was in pristine condition to assure that I would get my full damage deposit back. The whole property was professionally painted, the carpets professionally cleaned (according to the long-time caretaker of the building the carpets hadn't been touched in over 12 years) and I also hired a professional cleaner to scrub the flat to make sure it was in immaculate condition. Overall the process cost me £150 and I officially handed my keys in on the 20th February.
After hearing nothing for over a month despite numerous phone calls and emails the terminations department sent me an email regarding the check out on Friday 24th March, in the email they stated that the check-out was to be on Monday and if I wanted to be present for it I had to be there for 09:45, despite them knowing that I work 08:30-16:30 Monday to Friday. So to be present for the check-out I had to take time off work which was extremely inconvenient. When the woman from the check-out team had arrived, she was 30 minutes late and she did not know I was going to be present despite me emailing terminations letting them know I was going to be there.
I was advised that there would be a tenant moving in on Wednesday so the check out report was to be submitted by Tuesday which it was. Me and my former flatmate agreed that the report as acceptable and to proceed to submit it to the deposit protection scheme. Since then we have heard nothing about it's progress. I was also assured that I would have had my rent reimbursed to me by Friday 31st March as there was a tenant in the property. After numerous phone calls and emails it is Wednesday 5th April and I still have not had my rent reimbursed.
I will never be letting or buying from Your Move in the future, they have been the worst estate agents I have ever had to deal with and I hope that this review gives potential tenants and idea of how incompetent they are.

We were never told we would be responsible for paying the rent for our remaining months of lease up-front. We still have not been told this. I hope this won't be our experience.
