In November 2015, I moved to Pembrokeshire to retire. I viewed two properties marketed by West Wales Properties' Pembroke Office. I offered on a property in Ashleigh Gardens off the Upper Lamphey Road in Pembroke and agreed a price of £164,000. I then viewed a property in Pennar, and after an initial offer of £140,000, I agreed a price of £142,000 and proceeded to purchase the Pennar property. West Wales Properties were aware that I was moving 200 miles from the south of England, that I was a single retired pensioner who lives alone. At no point did they offer any advice regarding the two areas, anxious as they were to sell the property on behalf of a local builder. Their unhelpful, passive, non interventive attitude meant that I purchased a property in which I never felt safe and where, for the first time in a lifetime of home owning, I had to contact the local police for support. I might as well have bought a house off the internet! No local knowledge or expertise was made available to me. Six months later I remarketed the house, and, at the second attempt, in January 2017, West Wales Properties sold it for £117,000, a loss of £25,000 to me on what was supposed to have been a long term retirement home. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. They work on the principle that simpering good manners is a substitute for honesty, professionalism, knowledge, and integrity.
