I moved out on time. I had been renting the property for almost 10 years and every payment was on time. Anyway, Seekers knew that I was entitled to my deposit and the amount. Mr Martin claims to have lost all trace of my deposit because the company had been bought out. I didn't know that he is the one, allegedly, that bought it out. Months later, countless phone calls have taken place. Mr Martin has never once contacted me back. I have not received my deposit back. I was told that I should sue my landlady for the deposit..... I told Elizabeth, presumed secretary, that it is Seekers that holds my deposit and not the landlady (who has always been fair). I have now written to the Property Ombudsman regarding this.

My personal opinion is that in hindsight I wish I had not paid my last months rent. At least then I would not have had to borrow from my elderly parents.

Oh and one more thing. I was told by Elizabeth that they are a big company with some very important issues to deal with. Well, I may not be a big company. I may be a mere pawn in their monopoly board of rented houses (that they do not own) but that does not mean they can just get away with this.

If I get the deposit back I shall update this board.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Been efficient. They could have followed up on calls. They could be letting me claim the i terest on my money rather than sitting on it themselves.

I have just experienced the same, by law your deposit should be held in tenancy deposit scheme, if not they have broken the law and you are entitled to up to 3x your deposit back, as soon as i wrote (recorded delivery) and requested this information my deposit was returned, don't give up, tha'ts what they are hoping you do, good luck
