the process of relaying information from us, the tenants, to the landlord through the estate agents is extremely delayed and confusing especially when we had emergencies such as raw sewage outside the front door of the house which needed fixing urgently. We have had many issues with property and the agents were helpful in dealing with them. we often have to make contact twice before any action is taken and to remind them of the issue. We also get conflicting information from different staff members which shows a lack of communication within the agency. we feel this is linked to why we have to contact the agency twice before action is taken as messages aren't passed on. Ryan Mitchel is our main contact and has been very helpful and understanding considering he is the middle man between us and the landlord. he's very professional and gives us advice when needed. We are aware that students are not the agencies main tenants and this is reflected in their services to use - this is an area i feel needs to be improved.
Comment on agent fees
I don't feel the fee of £300 each was reflective of the services they provided us. As students this fee was unrealistic. I don't understand what the agency fee pays for and feel it is futile. compared to other agents this fee was about double.
