Having had a dismal previous experience with Barnard Marcus when buying our flat and the agent not bothering to do the paperwork/submit the offer (resulting in us nearly losing out on our dream property) we thought we would wait until our next dealing with them and give the benefit of the doubt.
Sadly, having attempted the first stage of the selling process and arranged a valuation through them we were let down heavily again. Thirty minutes passed from the scheduled time for the valuation and no agent nor contact. Having taken part of the afternoon off from work we chased them up to find out that they could not do it and did not think it was necessary to let us know.
Unfortunately this was apparently the Manager of the branch which makes the whole matter that bit worse. It is clear they have systemic problems throughout their operation and in my opinion I would not risk having them involved in any part of such a high value transaction.
If you want to limit the possibility of being severely let down or losing out on the biggest transactions in your lifetime then I would recommend you steer clear and check out reviews for other more reputable and competent agents.

They got me to put the property on at £100,000 more than it was worth, with a fee based on this, then when the price was reduced wouldn't reduce their fee - its a scam to get more fee's !

AVOID at all costs. These agents do not realise the bad reputation they have in the area. They dont pass on bids to vendors (fact through knowing enough buyers and vendors in the area), they lie, they plaster their signage everywhere over other agent signs ...

Terrible customer service and support - very rude and unhelpful staff. I will never put my property on with this agent, even if they were selling it for a 0.1% fee! I unfortunately had the displeasure of having to purchase a property through them. Never again....

The Registration fee is optional, you do not have to pay it, it is apparently for advanced marketing, and will be deducted from the end fee, should you sell.
