- on move in, forced us to sign a document to state we were happy with the condition of the flat before we'd been inside
- use cowboy contractors - we reported that an internal door was sticking and they arbitrarily hacked a jagged piece off the top
- bathroom leaked for years in downstairs flat, issue was never properly fixed and we had people coming in constantly to bodge it. Were eventually promised a new bathroom which turned out to be new bath taps and a few new tiles.
- roof leaked into living room wall - room was eventually re-decorated but as the problem wasn't properly fixed the huge damp patches soon came back. Contractors cancelled last minute on multiple occasions, same problems reported over and over again with no proper resolution.
- property poorly maintained - holes in original wood flooring meant that the property became infested with rats. We had to move out at our own expense when CJ Delemere said this was "not an emergency". They sent a pest company out who set traps and never followed up. At our own time and expense we were forced to attempt to seal 20-30 internal holes. Had rats running around inside the walls until the day we moved out
- emergency numbers are never ever answered out of hours
- contractors repeatedly let themselves into the property without letting us know - we reported this on about 6 occasions but it still happened
When we handed in our notice one of the new agents was quick to blame the landlord and said they couldn't make him take certain action - the landlord never visited the property in the 3 years we lived there. When we reported problems to the agent they would obtain the landlord's consent to resolve - but the agent never resolved any of the issues we reported whilst probably simultaneously charging the landlord to do so.
