We rented a ground floor flat in Glasgow on Rawcliffe Gardens for £1100 per month that turned out to be the most horrible place we have ever lived. The location and flat initially looked ideal, but the neighbours above us were terrible. They have wood floors and stomped back and forth all day and all night with heals on. This was every single day. They were a middle aged couple with three grown sons. They were rude and combative. We tried speaking to them, but that just made them dig their heels in more! They harassed us and other neighbours in the building. Because they were owners nothing could be done.
The landlord of the flat we rented cared not for the noise and stress we were experiencing - he was all about the money! He stood and rung his hands and did nothing. You would think he would want to make his good tenants happy in order to keep them renting his flat wouldn't you? Truth be told, he bought the flat to rent it out - but told everyone in the building he was going to eventually move into it, but his wife didn't want to give up their house. Bunk! It is an investment and nothing more.
Clyde didn't care about the noise and stress we were experiencing, either - they were all about the money, too! As a matter of fact, Clyde were so uninterested to the point we felt compelled to write this honest review of them. We found Clyde Shawlands to be rude and unhelpful at every turn. The process at the beginning took three long weeks when the flat was supposed to be available right away. The staff dragged the process out. We were coming back into the country after a year abroad and needed a place right away. Because of Clyde's incompetence, we spent £4000 at a hotel during those three weeks and lost the chance to rent a detached bungalow while waiting for them to do their job. Clyde lied to us when they told us the flat was quiet and the neighbours were respectful.
We kept the flat in beautiful condition, sparkling clean. Despite this, Clyde insisted in coming in every two months and looking in every room and taking photos. Talk about intrusive! Yet, they didn't care what misery we were going through on a daily basis with the noise makers upstairs!
Be warned that Clyde do not care about the people who rent their managed properties. Not at all! Oh, and it took a full 45 days for us to get our deposit back, too!!
