My husband visited the above property yesterday after arranging to meet an agent there at 4.15pm. He was told another person was viewing at 4.30pm. We liked the property and wanted to hold it with a depostit so the agent could carried out the appropriate references and contact the landlord regarding some questions. We were told there was no need to give a deposit and that the agent would let us know this morning after speaking with the landlord. I had not heard anything and at 11am today phoned the Maidstone office to find out if they were carrying out the necessary paperwork and was informed the house 'had been let by the landlord in the last 10 minutes'. I was given a 'sorry' in an uncomfortable manner by the agent and quite honestly was so annoyed at the obvious lie that I just put the phone down. I cannot understand how, when we were happy to hold the house with a deposit to prevent anybody else taking it we were told not to worry about it!! Why hadn't anybody phoned us to let us know one way or the other, and why are the agents misleading potential tenants when it was clear there was a hidden agenda. I will not be using your unprofessional outfit again in future and would not recommend your time wasting and dishonest service to anybody I know.
