If the option was there to have no stars then that's the rating I would have given! Truly shambolic excuse for an estate agents - honestly don't know where to start.
1. Lies - they are more than happy to lie to you about everything and anything. Tell you the wrong information, it's never their fault, there's always an excuse.
2. Customer care - well, there's none. Ringing up the office is torture, no one passes information onto each other, there's no manners on the phone, getting a hold of certain people is near impossible. Also, if you are thinking that emailing things to keep them on record is a good idea, it's not. They are very good at ignoring emails.
3. Repairs - if they actually bother to try and fix it (which is a rarity) then the 'handyman' Ste either can't fix it, says he's fixed it and hasn't or made the problem even worse. He is the nicest man alive and it's just a shame he's not the 'handiest' of people. BUT if he's tried to fix the boiler for over two months with visits in the region of 15 then it's time to call someone who knows what they are doing.
4. Repairs, part 2 - my boiler broke in January, sods law, and it took over two weeks to fix during which time I had no heating and it was only fixed when I CRIED down the phone as I was so cold.
5. Repairs, part 3 - a leak which turned my house into a damp festering, mushroom growing smelly pit couldn't be fixed. Instead, I lived with damp which eventually led me to more out (of course, the amazing landlord didn't exactly make me want to stay either!).
6. The strange way you apply for tenancy - so anyone who is interested in the property applies, to which you have to pay (what I remember to be) an £180.00 fee. You are not told that other people have too applied, if they have. Then the owner of the property 'picks their favourite' - their words not mine - and the other people DO NOT get their fee back. Best part is you are NOT told this when you apply.
All their tenants I have spoke with echo my experiences above.
Comment on agent fees
A bit steep, though not out of the ordinary. I do not agree with the fact they let more than one applicant apply and pay the fee without a refund if unsuccessful for reasons which do not relate to them.
