I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Wish I could give 0 stars! This company tries to take advantage of students and believes we have little knowledge which is not the case. I really do not know where to start. I moved into an unclean flat, with DVDs, paper and other items on top of the wardrobe. In the winter, I came back to my flat with the previously locked bedroom doors wide open, I thought it had been a break in and I found hairs on my bed, however that was not the case, it turns out, Westmanor had given the keys to our flat to another estate agent who did not ask any permission to enter our flat, which is not allowed and the contract states 24 hour notice must be given. I have had continuous emails with Westmanor in which they have been unhelpful and this continues up to today in trying to get my deposit back, I had a simple query for the finance department, I have forwarded the email twice with no answer and my query has not been responded too. Let me give you a brief run through of what it might be like using Westmanor Student Living or what it was like for me: days without water as the office closes on weekends and bank holidays and they state the emergency number is only to call if you are locked out and with this there is a charge. Days without lights due to ceilings being too high you cannot change them yourself and no one responding to contact forms although Westmanor insist this is how you should go about reporting a problem. Expect to submit more than one contact form and do not expect maintenance issues to be handled with any sort of urgency or organisation, once the plumber turned up and informed us Westmanor had sent him to a completely different building twice instead of ours. Do not expect your deposit back within the 6 weeks turnaround, the statement may be sent out on the last day of the 6 weeks but you will not receive the money and although you may pay for this deposit via bank transfer such as myself expect it back via cheque.

I am truly disgusted this is a student company because they take every opportunity to rip students off including the direct deposit fee simply to pay your bills and the money they take off your deposit no matter how clean you have left your flat. Try to take pictures before you move in and before you leave the flat so you have proof, and save all communication.

I will shortly be sending an email to my University about Westmanor in hopes they can discourage other students from using the services and going through what I and so many others have gone through, the Google ratings says it all.

Oh, I forgot to mention when we moved in there were little flies coming from the drain! When I told the plumber they were drain flies (it took a few attempts to get him out to the flat) he said no. However, surprisingly after he cleaned the drain of the previous occupants hairs, the flies disappeared.

Dear Shainaz, Thank you very much for your review. Although we admit that you have had a couple of issues during your tenancy, we do feel that some of your comments are very unreasonable. When you moved into your flat, you informed us that the bath was dirty and there was a razor down the toilet. A member of staff from Westmanor shortly went out to wipe over the bath (the 'dirt' was actually cleaning product which had been left by the professional cleaner) and remove the razor. You did not report any other cleaning related issues and if you had, we would have been happy to sort this out too. With regards to the keys being given to another agency, this is out of our control as they were taking over the management of your building as per the email that you were previously sent. We were informed by the agency that you had been given notice of the viewing. Regarding your deposit statement, as explained over email conversation with you, we can only apologise that the finance department's email had returned to sender however Emma from the lettings department has responded to all of your emails querying this. It does not state that the emergency number is just for lock outs, it merely states that you may be charged for a lock out call. The emergency number is to be used out of office hours and therefore you could have called and they would have contacted the 24 hour emergency plumber. This was all previously explained to you over email after this happened. Your beautiful flat has high ceilings with many spotlights which you viewed and chose to take. Westmanor offer the service of changing the light bulbs for you as we are aware that it has high ceilings. As per your tenancy agreement, we aim to inform you of any deductions to your deposit within 4-6 weeks from the end date of your tenancy which has been done. You can also request it to be refunded by bank transfer if you wish. We do not deduct money from deposits without reason and any queries regarding this can be discussed and taken further if you feel that this is necessary. We provide information in your move in pack to avoid deductions from your deposit and we also advise and request for tenants to take photos when they move in at the time of completing their inventory provided. Hi Jennifer, I have been over all the maintenance from your flat since October 2020. You initially reported the shower not working on 14.10.20 and maintenance attended and resolved. Two weeks later we then received another maintenance request from you stating this still wasn't working.
