Very poor service combined with very high fees.
Very pushy, there is a lot of pressure to extract the maximum possible fee from sellers and also to use Connells' own brand solicitors rather than your own. When I explained I would be using my own solicitor, Arron Shaw (the assistant manager) lost his temper and said, and I quote verbatim 'don't come complaining to me when your sale is too slow'. That is just one example (although probably the most extreme) of their lack of professionalism. Connells lost emails I sent them and then chased both my solicitor and I for information that they had already received. Overall, very aggressive, poor inter-personal skills, poor communication, lack of knowledge of the properties they are selling. They made it clear that they wanted the maximum fee (over 2%) but weren't prepared to deliver the high-quality service commensurate with these high charges.
Comment on agent fees
Excessive fees (over 2%), particularly in view of the (mediocre) and at times rude and unprofessional service provided. I will not be recommending Connells to my friends and family.
