Overall we have been extremely unhappy with the service provided by Sunflower. Their lack of professionalism and constant lying made our stay in the property very stressful.
The only positive to speak of is Olivia. She was very nice when showing us the property and the reason we took it, however the rest of the branch simply were not good at their jobs.
It began a week before we moved in when they suddenly changed the move in day, despite having given in our notice and paid removal men for our old place. They were unable to remove the old tenant, which I believe is their fault and their job.
I only got worse. The day we moved in, they had failed to remove the previous tenant (despite promising she had left the day before), so we had to wait in the street with the removal men and all our belongings as this women moved out. No one from the branch came down to help, they did not pick up their phones and said later it is not their issue - I am certain that this is their job. We ended up having to pay our removal men to move the old tenant out!! Again, Sunflower accepted no responsibility and offered no help with the situation.
As a result the property wasn't cleaned before we entered and NO inventory was done. Sunflower attempted to force us to sign an old inventory which was 2 years old! It took weeks before they finally agreed to do a proper inventory. I believe this is against best practice and I hope a manager reads this to know how poorly their colleagues conduct their business.
I believe it speaks volumes that the landlord contacted me directly and has mentioned he intends to not renew his contract with Sunflower after we move out as they have repeatedly lied to him on the progress of our tenancy and property.
If anyone wants further examples of poor practice by this branch, I have many more examples.
I would seriously advise caution when considering to rent a property through Sunflower.
Comment on agent fees
They charge fairly standard fees for referencing and admin costs. However, considering the lack of attention to detail with regards to the contract (failed to get our names correct and then refused to change it), inventory and general trouble shooting, their fees are too much.
