At first we thought Hodders were a good, competent company but unfortunately as time went on our views changed. We were told our buyer had a completion deadline which we agreed to but 2 days before D day we discovered our buyer did not actually have funds in place. We were then pestered by our agent to reduce the selling price in order to help the purchaser - against our principals we did this as the buyer had offered over the asking price but even that did not speed things along. All through our 5 month ordeal we were told almost weekly exchange would be "end of the week" only to be told time and again by our solicitor that it wouldn't/couldn't happen. Not only did this shambolic charade cost us financially it was the most stressful time I have ever known moving house due to the fact we felt Hodders were not working on our behalf but for our purchaser!
Comment on agent fees
Considering all the phone calls we had to make and the cost incurred I think the fee was too much.
