I was very disappointed with the sales process, we were promised a lot when the house was taken on. However, when it actually came to the sale of the property it was poor. We were told we had 9 viewings one Saturday, and one person turned up... Was told it was probably down to the weather!! This was clearly just a lie. Tghroughtout the process we were getting told one thing by one and another by someone else.. Typical lies.. be honest, there is no point lying!!
Ben was a good salesman when it came to the signing up process, said all the right things, that's why I signed and agreed an exorbitant fee. When it came to viewings we had some young lads doing them.. They were poor, forgot to show them parts of the house or tell them about key features i.e Solar Panels, A Garage, Side Access.. I think to sell the property it helps if you speak to the buyers, talk to them about the area, the house... not just open the door and go... here's the kitchen, lounge, bed room 1 etc etc..
At this point I felt I could have done a better job and quite frankly we did. The man that brought it in the end was someone my wife showed around as the estate agent that was there was late and when he was there was pointless.
We finally got a purchaser!! I had to then negotiate with another estate agent and agreed to discount our property to get the sale through or we would have lost our new house. Something I thought our agent would have done but didn't feel this was happening.
In all the sales process was a shambles, not helped by the poor quality service provided through Prospect in Wokingham who we were buying from and our purchaser was selling through. They had 3 deals on the table and I felt there were too many lies and the service was not what I was promised and ultimately almost lost us the house.
However, credit where credit is due.. once the manager of Wokingham Prospect was fired, due to being awful, and I kicked up a fuss about the time the whole process was taking Ben took the bull by the horns and pro-actively sorted the exchange and completion process.
This is the only reason they are getting one star, this is purely for Ben's work in the final two weeks during the final process.
Apart from that, I would suggest use an online agent as the above process cost me a lot of money and do not feel I got any of the service the cost warranted.
My advise would be avoid...
