Adam Caunhye arrived punctually to discuss the marketing of my property. He discussed the various options for sale and offered sound advice on the sales strategy. His estimated value of the property was accurate.
The property portfolio was well presented and I was very pleased with the way it came across on the rightmove site. An open house was arranged for the ensuing Saturday and I was subsequently told that 27 of the 32 people who had expressed an interest had viewed it. Initially, six offers were received, five of them exceeding my valuation. A seventh, even better, offer was received a few days later.
Mohammed Ali handled the negotiations with the buyers and both he and Adam maintained good communication with me throughout the sale.
I found the operation to be most efficient and the people were a pleasure to deal with. I particularly liked their equitable approach to fee charging whereby the vendor and buyer share the agents' fees.
My one disappointment was with the solicitors that were recommended and I would be very unlikely to use them again. Having said that, Century21 acted as intermediaries more than once to smooth things.
I would recommend Century21 very highly on the basis of my sole experience with them.
Comment on agent fees
I could have employed a different agent for 1.25% but Century21's 1.5% was still very competitive and I liked the idea of splitting it equally between buyer and seller.
