There are many issues I experienced whilst living at one of Tigers properties and wouldn't like anyone else to go through what my housemates and I did therefore, I am writing this review. The sheer amount of stress and anger Tiger had caused us was disgusting and unprofessional. I've had to cut my tenancy short and luckily found someone to take over my tenancy (poor guy). I really would be sat writing this review for a good few days if I listed every issue we had with the agency/house however, I simply do not want to waste my time and effort so I shall make this as brief as possible. DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY WITH THIS AGENCY. There you go, in 8 words. I realize this is a little too brief and should probably make you aware of some of the issues:
1.) The agents are rude with bad attitudes. Whenever we rang about maintenance issues they were short with us and took their time to sort the problems out
2.) Weren't provided with a black bin for the WHOLE of the time I lived in the house and the tenants still don't have one now after asking every week since November! We literally had to pile up our rubbish in the garden, disgusting!
3.) When the lock on the front door broke, this wasn't seen as a priority and took Tiger a couple of days to come round. We had to sleep knowing that we weren't safe in our own house!
4.) Not being able to shower for longer than 1 minute. Took the agency two weeks to come round to sort out the showers and the drain blockage outside the house
5.) Mice – they put poison down in the house and we were waking up to find dead mice dotted around the place
6.) Mould, everywhere!
7.) Tried to charge me £200 as I had a cat living there for two weeks. Okay, this was a breach of my contract as no pets were allowed but they tried charging me £200 for an allergy clean! When I asked for a quote they couldn't provide me with one which then led me to believe they were trying to scam me (which was the case). I was then charged a mere £41 (one fifth of the original asking price) for the clean when I asked for a new quote.
8.) Took me a week to receive my deposit back as they were trying to charge me for issues within the house which were nothing to do with my housemates or me, please note just like any agency/landlord they do try their hardest to keep your deposit so act fast!
9.) Slamming the phone down on you, totally unprofessional and a disgrace
10.) At the beginning of the tenancy, the oven broke! This was not seen as a priority and we had to go a couple of weeks without being able to cook our food
11.) Not getting notice given when there were house viewings, agencies walked in to the property without knocking and without notice. One of the agents then tried calling us liars
The fact of the matter is, Tiger are a disgrace and treat students with disrespect. Throughout your time of being a student agencies and landlords will try to walk all over you, Tiger especially are an agency which I would advise everyone to steer clear of. I've actually never experienced anything like this. A couple of my housemates (given the choice) would love to move out of this property however, they're still stuck in this dump and will probably have to stay there until the tenancy ends. The only one good thing I have to say about Tiger is that… oh, no there's nothing.
Just to let you all know, I had to give at least one star on this review. If I had the choice, I wouldn't have given one eighth of a star
