All estate agents are definitely not the same! We have just sold a property in Henleaze on a street where houses sell quickly and easily - so you would think your choice of agent wouldn't matter too much. Our experience is different - as sellers, the bottom line is that we are literally tens of thousands of pounds better off having sold through CJ Hole.
We had initially marketed with another well-established Henleaze agent, who told us that the first offer they got was the best we could expect, even though it was well below the guide price. We left them and went to CJ Hole, who marketed at the same guide price as before, but took time to plan and launch the process properly, get to know the property (all members of the team visited so that they could describe it to buyers) and then work with interested parties to facilitate viewings. The result - several offers from the open day at well over the asking price.
With the market as it is, selling and buying is a difficult and protracted process. The CJ Hole team was dedicated and committed throughout (about a year, end to end), taking time to understand our needs and helping us to view many other potential properties to buy. When our first chain collapsed, we were back to square one and CJ Hole ran a second very successful marketing process, again achieving multiple offers above the asking price. In between times, George had even run a mini-marketing process for us on 24 hours' notice, when we saw a house we liked and wanted to try to get proceedable quickly. Nothing has been too much trouble for the team.
Kim Hopgood was very helpful in the closing stages, helping to ensure that exchange and completion (which happened quickly and on a tight timetable) ran smoothly.
