In December 2015 I made an offer on a property being sold by Churchills. The offer was accepted, and I received a letter from Churchills confirming this. However, in the following weeks I had to make numerous phone calls to Churchills regarding the progression of the sale. In fairness, the vendor was having difficulty in finding another property. However, I did expect Churchills to keep me regularly updated, which they failed to do. Most of my phone calls to Churchills were met with promises to phone me back with information. However, I rarely received a return call.
Now (just over 3 months since the sale was agreed) I have noticed the property re-advertised on the Churchills website at £10k more than the agreed offer. I don't blame the vendor for wanting to get a higher price. However, I would have at least expected a courtesy call, letter or email from Churchills explaining the situation. I thought this was very unprofessional of them.
My opinion of Churchills is that they are an apathetic and unprofessional estate agents. If anyone is considering selling a property I would recommend using an agent other than Churchills, as (based on my experience) I'm of the opinion that their apparent indifference is unlikely to appeal to buyers or help conclude a sale.

We can understand this buyers frustration. The owner of this property unfortunately had personal circumstances as to why the sale to this buyer was put on hold. We were instructed late on the Friday afternoon by the vendor to put the property back for sale at a higher price. The negotiator who dealt with the sale was away from the office on Friday and Saturday. On returning to the office on Monday morning rang the buyer to advise what was happening and to see if they were interested at the higher price. Unfortunately they were not. We have kept them informed of other new instructions
