We had very positive experience with our agents Joseph and Zeno. They have been very helpful and proactive. We originally appointed another estate agent, but after a horrible experience with them, we would rather pay the additional 1% to go with Foxton.
We needed to put our house on the market as soon as possible and we were worried with possible delays regarding putting the house on the internet, etc. However, Joseph promised that they had a lots of buyers that they could contact, so they didn't even need to wait until the house is on the house search websites before getting any interests. And he was right, that as soon as we said it's ok to put it on the market, we got viewers within the same day. Even before the house was on zoopla, etc, we got at least one viewer each day (sometimes 4 viewers within the same day)! We were well impressed by this.
Within a week of putting the house on the market, we got our first offer. Unfortunately our original buyer has pulled out, however Joseph reassured us that they would find us another buyer quickly. Surely enough we got an offer from a new buyer within 24 hours, and even better that the offer was much higher and at the asking price! This has exceeded above and beyond our expectation.
Our thanks also goes to Zeno who went the extra mile to help us. We had lots of pressure in the timescale for this sale, as we were buying and selling at the same time and the seller of our onward purchase was on the edge of pulling out due to the delays. Zeno understood this, and was very pro-active to try different ways to speed up our sale. For example, he put in the additional effort and volunteered to come to our house to wait for the valuer as both of us work during the week, and he tried so hard to get the solicitor's report so he could send it to the buyer when he went abroad. He gave us frequent updates on the progress via text / e-mail / phone, and he respected our wish that during the day we preferred not to be contacted by phone unless if it's urgent. In some occasions where our solicitors were too busy and had not sent out some documents to the other side, he talked to us nicely and asked us to ask the solicitors to do so, instead of in our other experience with other agent telling us how bad the solicitors were and that we should change the solicitors, etc. With Zeno, we felt we were in good hands and being looked after well as a client.
The photos were professionally done and looked great, and the marketing materials (brochures, website advert) looked excellent.
Joseph, Zeno, and their colleagues who conducted viewings were always on time too.
Overall we were so glad to have appointed Foxton as our agent to sell our property and will recommend them to our neighbours / friends.

Comment on agent fees
Foxton's fee is one of the highest (if not the highest) among all other high street estate agents. However you get what you pay for and we felt the level of service we received certainly worth the additional 0.5% - 1% commission fee

Comment on agent fees
Their fees were a little higher than other companies and before putting my home on the market I gave quite a lot of thought as to whether to instruct a less expensive agent. I'm extremely glad I didn't. The sale price they achieved was many tens of thousands of pounds in excess of the asking price suggested by other agents and covered the slightly higher cost of their fees many, many times over.

What agent could do to change your mind?

For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
