I recently completed a tenancy through Morris Dibben Southampton. It was, in almost every respect, the worst letting experience in almost 15 years of renting property:
- Their fees were extortionate (£580 for 2 people)
- During the letting arrangement's main focus seemed to be on selling us contents insurance (which was unnecessary as we already had our own). When we went to sign the tenancy agreement and pick up the keys everything was very rushed and disorganised and we were made to feel that we were being a bother by just being there,
- The house was given to us in a filthy state and we had to spend two days cleaning it before we moved our things in. We complained but they never apologized and simply ignored us
- Their were numerous maintenance issues which took ages to sort out or more often, were simply ignored
- Repeated calls (at least six!) were needed to get references provided for our next tenancy even though we had paid their referencing fee
- Repeated calls were needed to arrange a check-out time for vacating the property
- Repeated calls and e-mails were required to get our deposit returned.
The main problem with Morris Dibben is that most of time you are not dealing with Morris Dibben. Instead you are dealing with
What agent could do to change your mind?
For the property we am currently renting we paid ‚£250 which covered all our letting fees. How can Morris Dibben justify fees of ‚£580?
