We had been let down badly by our previous agent - our property had been "trashed" and no attempt has been made to repair damage - the main door was left in an insecure state. We live quite a distance away, requiring a lengthy boat or air journey to check up on the property so it is imperative that we can trust our agent to look after us and our tenants.
In the spring of 2012 we were lucky enough as to meet John Davidson of "Southside" who was able to advise us that we would have to do quite a bit of work to the property in order for it to comply with legal regulations - an HMO Licence. He was sympathetic to our reluctance to trust again. With this in mind he introduced us to the trades men who would do the work - he gathered estimates - and was generally very attentive and supportive.
As work progressed Mark Phillips was assigned to our property as the person who would contact us and be contactable for us - regarding the property. What can I say - both men are of high integrity and have prove many times over that our property in indeed in very good hands - a must when you live remotely.
In addition to looking after us and our property they are very prompt about responding to the needs of our tenants. They contact us to pass on estimates for work required and provide immediate copies of receipts. We get a comprehensive monthly statement e-mailed to us which meets the requirements of our accountant - this statement is sent accompanied by copies of the relevant receipts.
I would have no reservations in recommending "Southside Property Management" to either landlords or tenants.
In conclusion I must express my gratitude to John Davidson, Mark Phillips and the team at the Nicolson Street office for their continued efficient, personal and supportive service - thank you all.
