I've just read the post left by "KM" and felt I had to have my say. Let me state from the outset, I'm a real customer of Bourne in Alton. They handled the sale of my father's property in March 2015 and subsequent move to Alton I rarely review anything online, but the comment by "KM" couldn't be further from the experience we had with Bourne, so I wanted to lend some perspective. They handled the sale of an unusual, but not straightforward period property and subsequent purchase of a new-build, retirement apartment. Dad is an 81 year old, recently widowed gentleman. Gemma and Andrew at Bourne couldn't have treated him with more care, respect, sensitivity and kindness, not to mention their professionalism. They were truly amazing with all our family; going way above and beyond what you would normally expect and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend their company. Moving at any time of life is stressful, but we'd just lost my mother. Mum and Dad had been married for 53 years so the move was extremely emotional. The sale ended up as part of quite a long chain. Everyone in a chain has their own needs and agenda and this was no exception. Several times it came close to collapsing and a few of the people in our chain were excessively demanding, inflexible and unreasonable, bordering on neurotic and I can honestly say if it weren't for Gemma and Andrew the chain would have collapsed. They were nothing but patient, courteous and hardworking. Their marketing was spot on and they quickly grasped our needs. More importantly they got way in excess of what two other local agents had valued the house at. We felt other agents had undervalued the property for a quick sale, but Bourne were open and honest with us about what we could expect to achieve. We cannot fault them in any way and if anyone doubts I'm a real customer, pop into Bourne in Alton and ask Gemma or Andrew for my number and you can ask me yourself!

I am the seller and builder of this property and I think it is very unfair to be blaming the agent given it was them who were urging me to stick with yourselves as a buyer. Bourne had the lowest of the fees being charged by Estate Agents in the area although I did find them to be very high especially when they do a minimal of paper work and I had to chase to be sent the inventory and a copy of the signed agreement. The company that they use to carry out the inventory did not complete a very thorough documentation and I had to request several issues to be added.
