Upon moving in, numerous repairs were promised including broken guttering, a damaged back fence, the gate on the side of the property having fallen off and lots of exterior wood work needing painting to prevent rot. The painting happened after living in the property for two years, with no warning. One morning, men arrived and started painting the house. All the other repairs are still to be done.
Other work became obvious while living in the property. Numerous plumbers had to visit across 18 months in an attempt to mend the leak in the bathroom causing water to run through the kitchen light fitting. The bathroom used 24v bulbs which the transformers for broke twice while living there, the second time, they were not repaired.
We reported a fault with the house and smoke alarm system 6 months before leaving which was also never resolved. This left us with no coverage on either system for the downstairs of the house.
Finally, after telling then I was looking at buying a house at Christmas and not to renew my contract, but let it revert to aa monthly rolling contract, and that I'd had an offer accepted in April (and moving out in August), they are now chasing money for rent in September and October.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Repair reported issues, and listen when told not to attempt contract renewal during our last 12 months

Comment on agent fees
‚£250 for an admin fee seems quite a lot, the 15 minutes we spent in your office couldn't have been that expensive for you
