I chose Home Zone over other agencies due to the personality of Matthew and his professional opinion in renting vs selling the property that I had inherited.
I picked three companies from billboards that are around the Bromley and Shortlands area, as I had no idea who to use.
Originally we were looking for a evaluation, as we were selling the property and we wanted a quick sell.
I found HZ to be very relaxed with their approach and they gave us sound advise on what we could do to market the flat to get more for our money.
One local competitor was so pushy they hounded us for the contract telling us why they were the best and they bragged about how quick they could sell the flat with less commission. It turns out they were going to sell the flat for less than the market value that is why it would be a quick sell.
Mathew understood the competition, but he still gave us advise on selling the property, as it was a little on the tired side or spending some money with a fresh coat of paint and new flooring that would appeal to a wider audience. Matthew suggested and gave us advise about renting the property and what the return would be.
HZ kept in touch over the next couple of months with no contracts signed and no pressure. HZ recommend many tradesmen to help with jobs that needed to be done, it was because of this we decided to sign with them vs the larger company. HZ is local they care about the community and they know what is going on in the area.
When the time came to rent the property, HZ came round to take pictures for their records and they marketed the property on line for a good price for a one bedroom ground floor flat with garden and off street parking.
HZ vetted the first prospective renter and they gave us their professional opion in who we should be looking at for long term commitment. They advised us that we should keep looking, as there was a couple of red flags when they did a background check.
We took their advise as they have been in business for a number of years and they offer a guarantee contract which is an extra 2% of the rent but they will look after the property in case of any issues down the road. The next person that came along turned out to be a perfect the property was rented within a couple of days.
After 12 weeks of rental HZ sent us pictures of the flat and what it looked like with the renters in and how they were looking after the property. The agency keeps a regular check on the property which is very reinsuring when you live out of the country.
We have been with HZ now for 6 months we are very happy with the services. Rent is paid on time and in our account with a monthly email invoice.
Would I recommend HZ without a doubt. it a small office with the same agents working as a team, they get to know the property, the tenant and the landlord. The larger companies offer you an agent but then you get someone else that looks after the account.
Well done Homezone you have a happy customer here and you deserve to be number 1 in the area.

It is very rare that we receive a negative review, and it's true that even if you do your best, you cannot please everyone.
