Our tenancy has been managed by Foxtons for eight months and the only time we have been impressed by their service was when we were liaising with the sales team. After signing for the property we were passed along to the unhelpful, incommunicable and uncharismatic Konrad.
Our first issue to be handled by our elusive Property Manager was the malfunctioning shower. We were forced to endure weeks of subjecting ourselves to ice cold or boiling hot temperatures before Konrad made any arrangements for the shower to be replaced despite numerous unsuccessful complaints. Konrad only agreed to take measures towards fixing the shower after suggesting we "just got used to" being alternately scalded or frozen. The next problem was with a number of leaks from the property above which had resulted in unsightly and property depreciating damage. This particular issue took 4 months to address. We then had to wait three months for our boiler to be replaced, our only good fortune was that these months were July, August and September when the evenings weren't quite as bitter.
A recent change in the names on the contract, once more, proved to be an arduous task for Konrad. After filing all of the necessary paperwork and assuming it had been received by the office, we were taken aback when the previous tenant contacted us notifying us that Konrad had phoned him to tell him he had never received the new contract. The previous tenant told Konrad that he no longer lived in the property and the issue would be better handled by one of us, the current tenants. We are still awaiting Konrad's phone call. Being forced to take the matter into our own hands, we contacted Konrad to ask if, indeed, he hadn't received the new contract. He confirmed that was the case in his usual discourteous and dismal tone. It was only when confronted with the request to speak to the Office Manager that he displayed any kind of adequacy.
It has been Konrad's insolence and total disrespect for us as tenants that has been most galling throughout these months. Tread carefully when considering a Foxtons managed property in the Battersea area.
