Paul is keen and tries to help whenever he could, but there are times when I felt he was uncertain of the letting procedure/policy, and there is surely a lack of communications between the office staffs.
For instance, on the week before I move into the new flat rented via Spencers, I double checked on Wednesday whether Spencers had all the documents needed. The reply was yes. I went in to complete payment and setup direct debit on Thursday, during which the office manager Adam suggested that there are more documents I needed to sign, and that i should collect the keys on Monday Morning. I rushed through the remaining documents over the weekend, came back to the office Monday Morning, when the manager was away and Paul was unaware that I am coming to collect the keys. After calling his manager, he eventually handed me the keys, and was very polite and helpful. Nonetheless, he did not give me the contract signed by the landlord.
I am quite certain that I am entitled to a copy of the contract, I needed it especially because I am non-British and needed to register with the police office with a proof of current address. Since I only just moved to this new address, I had no bills or bank statements to prove my address. And since then I called the office more than 3 times per day to ask for a copy of the contract. They could have just sent me the contract via email, as I don't see any problem in that. During this process, Paul did not answer my calls (possibly because such issues must go through the manager? ) , and the manager also avoided my calls into the third or fourth day. They could have explained if it's because the landlord's signature has not yet arrived, or sth similar. But there were no explanation throughout the whole process either (the poor receptionist had to answer all my questions).
Still, I appreciate that Paul is a new staff and many of the problems I have experienced were not his doing, so I will leave a 'good' rating, while the over experience dealing with this office is only Average.
