Dealt with John Maasdorp and Daniel Matthews, who appear to be great at their job if the whole point of their job is to mislead tenants. Must have gotten A* in drama in high school, given that they enjoy changing their story so much. False information about the property and explanation of terms in the contract, resulting in my flat mate and I moving into a flat that was not what they had told us. An unorganised office dynamic (perhaps due to not having their story fully straight and not knowing what to say?), when they haven't known how to respond to our complaints they resorted to blaming the landlord for the things they told us, despite the fact that we had no dealings with the landlord until we actually moved in. Not only this, but John was frankly condescending when I questioned why his story had changed, quoting what he had previously said. He then said only this, but John was frankly condescending when I questioned why his story had changed, quoting what he had previously said. He then said "I wasn't there when you were originally told that", at which point I gestured to David Matthews who had given the original misleading information, who ignored my comment by staring at his computer screen and smirking. I'm not sure whether they're incompetent or simply wanted to ensure the contact was signed by being deliberately misleading. Either way, their attitude towards us when we have called them up on their false information has been horrendous
What agent could do to change your mind?
Misleading information about what the fees were for, led us to believe the "check in contribution" was for professional cleaning. After 4 weeks of chasing them for a partial refund (house was filthy when we moved in), they said it was actually a consultancy fee. Strange that it took two "professionals" 4 weeks to find out what a fee in the original contract was for, given that it's surely a standard fee for EVERY contract.
