I am very disappointed to read a review left by my tenant Claire Jordan, which i have attached below. Let Direct informed me about the work over 2 and a half months ago. Being a responsible landlord and knowing that the tenant has two small children. I gave Let Direct permission to have the ceiling fixed ASAP.
I have been in touch with the tenant and she advised me that no one from Let Direct have been out to inspect the work, even though i have an invoice from them for the work.
So i have decided to take the property back from them.
1, Why am i paying them to fully manage the property, when the tenant is doing the job for them.
2, If they are over worked they should be employing some more staff.
3, It took them 2 and a half months to fix the ceiling. What if it was more serious?
4, They didnt even go and check what kind of work was done to the ceiling, just gave me an invoice.
5, Ive tried to phone them and no one returns your calls.
6, I will be more than happy to keep the tenant, as she is doing a better job than the Let Direct!!
Let Direct will no longer be managing my property!!

Very friendly, but overworked and a bit vague. They failed to fix a leak in the ceiling even though I warned them the ceiling would come down if it wasn't stopped soon, then when it did come down it took them 2£ months to fix. In the end I told them I was going to hang on to the rent and use it to hire workmen myself - which I may say they were perfectly OK about and were just pleased to have somebody else relieve them of some of their workload. If you're with them and you need repairs, you're best just to get it done yourself, subtract the cost from the rent and then send them the remainder plus receipts. They won't make a fuss so long as you're not wildly extravagant.

I don't know what on earth is going on with this John McKenzie person. I am the Claire Jordan who left the initial review, and far from being "John McKenzie"'s tenant, I've never heard of him. My landlord's name was David Moncur. Nor do I have any children, small or otherwise (chance would be a fine thing, at my age) although I do have an aged mother. I don't know if McKenzie has confused me with somebody else, or whether he's a sock puppet.

¢â‚¬Å“the fees were a flat rate of ‚£50, however as they did not perform inspections, did not inform of us of any of the dangerous structural changes or modifications to the wiring, plumbing and heating, did not have an inventory, did not produce clear rent statements, did not make regular rent payments to us, did not ensure the properties were left in a clean, safe condition-i would say they did not deserve the fees.¢â‚¬Â
