This estate agent is an absolute joke. The staff are rude and unbelievably incompetent.
Us 3 girls rented the house early August'14 - August'15 and had on-going problems from the start. The first day of our tenancy, the house had been left in a shocking state. It had not only not had professional clean, but had not been cleaned at all. There was a moulding sofa in the living room, rubbish left all over the kitchen, with sticky surfaces and floors, and a rotting-smelling fridge, and a moulding computer chair. The toilets were surrounded by wee patches and the sink has had dirty water and a paint brush left in it. One of the bedrooms' floor was covered in paint chippings and debris. So our house was uninhabitable from the beginning, and they failed to clean the house until mid-September, after many many e-mails asking them to do so.
We had damp in our house that made us ill, yet despite us reporting the issue several times from the beginning of our tenancy in August'14, they made no efforts to handle the situation until we were forced to involved the Government Environmental Health Department in Jan'15. They then began work on the damp in May'15, in the middle of our exams and end-of-year assessment period, causing much distress as we were having to share rooms whilst building work was being done in one of the bedrooms, and preventing us from being able to study and complete work in our own home.
Since moving out of the property, the incompetents of this company has only increased. We left the house in a professionally-cleaned state. It was immaculate. Yet, we were sent an e-mail with a list of charges that would be taken from our deposit, including a cleaning charge of £200, a missing chair (the one covered in mould from the kitchen, that they had agreed could be removed), missing light bulbs (every room had a working light bulb) and a missing fire grate (which never existed). We argued our case back on this, and after many e-mails, finally agreed that all the charges were wrong. In fact, Lucy even admitted that she had been looking at another tenancy for a different house's forms and getting them confused!
It is now mid-September'15 and we are still awaiting our deposit, which we should have received a month ago. They constantly make-up excuses as to why it has not been returned and always putting the blame onto us, e.g. not sending over our closing bills (which we e-mailed to them twice three weeks ago)...
Please stay clear of this estate agent. Many reviews report of similar experiences.
