Never go with this letting agent!! Richard Candy is a arrogant, rude, manipulative man. All he cares about is money!! We moved into a property whilst I was 7 months pregnant!! He had told my partner and myself that the gas heaters had just been serviced and that he would send the safety certificate along with our contract, however this was never received! Once I had called the letting agent to ask where the certificate was, I was then told that it was actually up for renewal!! Even though Mr Candy had told us they'd just been done. When the plumber was eventually booked to come out he condemned the heaters as they were leaking Carbon monoxide!! Mr Candy then asked if my partner and I could move out for 4 days whilst he put central heating in!! It was due to go in the week after our baby was born!! This was in February where it wasn't exactly warm!!! Once the heating had been put in the boiler was put in our baby's bedroom rather than the kitchen as this was the cheapest option!! As you can imagine we had spent a lot of time making our baby's bedroom perfect and now there was a great big boiler in there!! Pipes were on show and it didn't look attractive! Mr Candy was planning on leaving the boiler like this until the plumber suggested putting a box around it to make it safer as the pipes would get hot and not ideal in a babies room. Obviously this was done by the cheapest people he could hire!! This was just 1 of the many problems we had with him!! Believe me the list is endless!! The house we moved into was not safe and certainly not liveable!
Mr Candy was unfortunately our landlord as well as the letting agent manager!! Although he never referred to himself as the landlord he would always say 'the landlord has spent a lot of money' he would always refer to someone else being the landlord rather than himself! This letting agent should be shut down!!!

The heaters were condemned by the gas man! We were left with no heating throughout the winter with a newborn baby! We were given electric heaters which ate our electric like there was no tomorrow!! There is no need to write to you and make a complaint as it's currently in the hands of my solicitor! I really wish we had read these reviews before we had rented a property from yourselves. I would rather live in a skip than a property you own! Oct 22, 2015
Unfortunately I do not know who you are and if you have a complaint then you would need to put this in writing to our office. A gas man would not leave carbon monoxide spillage in a property and would react immediately by disconnecting the heater that was leaking from the gas supply.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you were not happy with our services. The landlord did put a new roof on and the roofer did come back to rectify the issue. The landlord thought that this was fixed. I am not sure how the plug is coming away from the wall and this was not reported to the office. The property has an electrical installation condition report and this has happened during the tenancy.
