Absolutely appalling customer service and so many mistakes.
(1) Despite proof of payment, which was later shown, they were adamant that my flat mate had not paid the ridiculously expensive deposit so I had to pay another £400 upfront to collect the keys. Once accepting their mistake, after various emails and calls they promised to transfer the money within 4/5 working days. 9 days later I had to call again, in which I was told they would call back (I'm still waiting).
(2) Throughout, when they state that they will call back ('in 15-20 mins') they will not. I called back 1 to 2 hours later each time, racking up a total of 5 calls in one day in which 'they will call back in 15-20 mins as the colleague dealing with this property is busy'. I have endured at least a couple of days of this agonising process.
(3) They lie to cover up their negligence. When I finally got through I politely enquired why had it taken so long. She stated that she had called twice that day and left a voicemail (non-existent). My phone is in perfect working order, I even asked my mother to test a voicemail, so I very much doubt these calls and voicemails took place. Regardless, I shouldn't have to endure numerous phone wars to receive my money, and promises of internet, which is entirely their fault.
(4) Do I dare go on to state the internet saga which took a fortnight to set up, more various calls with virgin media and tara & co, in which if it wasn't for virgin media's excellent customer service, and their realisation that tara & co had given them the WRONG address, I would probably still be battling with that. This was the first thing I enquired about upon key collection and I was told it could be solved in a day and was super easy (also still waiting).
I was a student in Liverpool for 3 years, and have heard tales of various other student letting agencies, and this has been by far the worse so far.
