I wanted to share my experience with * Connells in the hope that I might save anyone else from the mis fortune of dealing with him!
My partner and I went to view a property with Connells, which we did not go for, and ended uo almost being railroaded into obtaining a mortgage through them. When we first spoke with James over the phone he was polite and helpful, we decided to go with him to help us obtain our mortgage. We have a 6 month old baby and are also getting married and thought that he would help to relive the stress!!!!! How wrong we were....
We sent though all the requested paperwork and sat back and waited for a call...and waited.... and waited....I finally decided to chase James up and was told that he was busy and would update us as and when. Weeks passed and I called again, only to be told that he was busy. This kept happening over the weeks that passed, he was always "too busy" to speak to us. I was getting quite upset by now and I called and tried one last time but yet again he was too busy. I do not understand how a "professional" can be too busy to deal with you but is only too happy to take your money, we paid him over £500 to help us and as soon as the money cleared we did not hear anything from him again!
I decided to deal with the bank myself and have been doing so for the past few weeks, I have discovered that James had sent through the wrong paperwork, ignored e-mails from the bank and had not passed info on to us at all as he was "too busy".
In the meantime I have complained to Connells customer relations and have been told that it could take upto 8 weeks to hear from them! I am still waiting...
I can not explain just how stressful this thing has been, I wish that I had NEVER stepped foot into Connells and if you are thinking about using them....take my advice DO NOT BOTHER!
I still can not believe that as soon as he received our £500 we never heard from him again nor his boss or anyone to even apologise just nothing at all...
I will wait and see what the customer relations department have to say and if im not completely satisfied, I will be going straight to the Obudsman as I feel like I have been completey robbed of my money.
