This agent told me that the previous tenant was moving out on a specific date (a Tuesday) and that I could move in on the Saturday. When I turned up at the Agents on the Saturday with all my earthly possessions in a van ready to start my new job on the Monday in Birmingham, they told me that the tenant had only moved out the night before (the Friday). This was not down to the tenant, as their agreement did actually terminate on the Friday, rather it was an attempt by the agency to maximise rental yield as the tenant had told them they had been hoping to move out on the Tuesday.

Needless to say the apartment was not cleaned as promised and was filthy, and sadly the previous tenant had never heard of bleach, and being a male, had a 'bad aim' when using the toilet... It took another 10 days to get the place cleaned, and the cleaners did a rubbish job. When I complained they sent the cleaners back but their attitude was one of attempting to shift blame my way for all the mess, stating to my partner who was waiting on for them that
