I am really annoyed with the way Gascoigne Pees have dealt with the Letting of a property in Reigate.
Firstly since having photos taken end of July - these were not put online to promote that the property was even available to rent. The Agent handling the property Daniel - told myself and the land lord it was on the market. The landlady came around on the 1st August and we searched for the property on their site and on zoopla - no luck.
Secondly the landlady was told there was an "open house" on the flat on thursday 2nd August - fortunately i was home that day, and again they were caught out in a lie. no one came to view the property.
On Saturday the 8th on a whim they had other viewings at propertys (note the property is still not listed online) however they bought two ladies around, who had loads of questions which the agent didn't have answers too, as he never bothered to find out details of the property. Fortunately i was home so answered the questions the two girls had.
NOW - trying to get my tenancy deposit back from them as i have moved out of the flat and the landlady has agreed to release it - i have spoken with 4 different people and each one had a different story as to what was happening.
First it was being released on Tuesday 25th August. I phoned back the 26th August nothing had happened yet, i was then told by Daneil the scanner had broken and they couldnt send the form to myself to sign - in this day and age forms are done via PDF and WORD i thought this was ridiculous, only to be told by Nichola his collegue no there is no form, and the agency have completed all relevant paperwork but the hold up is indeed with TDS. I phoned TDS - they are not accountable for the deposit the AGENT is!! so again i phoned back - i was told it can take up to 5 working days, ok fine but now how do i believe that they are going to return my funds?? with all of the above i find the whole company and absolute mess. And the run around not just for myself but for my lovely Landlady who is just amazing it is not NECESSARY. i feel it is their job to take better care and to be honest with their clients.

They can't release deposit for 6 weeks now. Don't reply to phone calls, don't keep me update, excuses about system being down, trasfering money within 5 days, etc. They missed 10 days deadline and still can't explain what is going on....

TERRIBLE AGENCY!!!!!! Left the property clean and in good condition, no problem raised by landlord. However, Gascoigne Pees still have my deposit over 1 month on from vacating. Will also mislead you by sneakily switching the power to Spark Energy before you move in....
