I initially used DB Roberts to sell my property, however they closed down their Halesowen branch and my files were moved to Hicks Hadley, ( I was not informed of this prior to this happening however )
In the beginning the staff at Hicks Hadley were fine and seemed to be quite professional, however as time went by this level of service deteriorated somewhat. I was often made to feel as though my buyer was more important than me, the person who was actually paying them! Often I would email them with various answers or updates on the extension of my lease etc but this information would often be requested from me the next day from another member of staff, it seems as though they do not communicate with one another. When I was contacted on one occasion for info I had sent the day before I was told that my email possibly hadn't been received as they had moved the office around that day! Julie in particular could be quite abrupt at times and Sue would quite often criticise my solicitor over the phone telling me how slow she was etc and how exasperatinng she could be! I might also point out that the firm of solicitors was actually recommended to me by DB Roberts!
To be fair the sale did take around 9 months and this was not the fault of Hicks Hadley, it was mostly the extension of the lease on a flat with less than 70 years remaining, however I provided as much
information as I could, every time I was asked, and still the attitudes of both Sue and Julie left a lot to be desired at times.
To top it all my final bill was incorrect by £600.00 pounds and the email addressed to my buyer! It hardly inspires confidence does it?
What agent could do to change your mind?
This fee seems like a lot of money for very little work!
