A horrendous letting experience, the house in itself was old and in a state of disrepair to the point that most contractors mentioned how they hated getting called out to this house because it was beyond help. Our Landlady who lived in Portugal could take up to a month to respond to emails and clearly didn't want to spend money on the house. This has been a continual frustration in the last 2 years however it was all topped off when we tried to move out.
When moving out Angela, the only staff member who did maintenance, ignored the new inventory despite having gone round with her to mark the updates at the beginning of the tenancy. She claimed that because she didn't sign it it wasn't valid. We were also told that some of the landlord stuff was missing which wasn't on the inventory when we left and we never saw when we moved in. We made a big effort when cleaning and even hired professional carpet cleaners in so we had a good chance of getting a deposit back, however, it looks like we shouldn't have bothered as we never had a chance anyway.
I am not sure what they are like in sales but I would strongly urge people to avoid letting with them.
This agent should at least try to be equally on the side of landlord and tenant rather than continually keeping the tenants out of the loop regarding maintenance to do with the house.
The office doesn't seems to communicate with each other so we had to allow a week to be able to speak to the right person or get a call back.
Angela who seems to be the only person trying to run the whole of maintenance was continually rude and disorganised. Whenever anything could be charged to us or deemed our fault she was quick to accused but slow to get things fixed or admit any wrong. Even when she continually forgot to tell us when contractors were coming round or if a job had been issued.
