I rented a three bedroom semi from Gay Kay. I left the property in early 2015 as I had just bought a House. Before leaving the house and handing it back to the estate agent Gary Kay inspected the house twice. The inspections went well and Gary Kay himself said it was in a very good state. When I left the property the owner then said there were issues. A long list of issues. This meant the deposit was being fought for. I rang the DPS and told them that I did not want to hand back the deposit and that it was in dispute. I was also talking to Gary Kay Properties on a regular basis about it. After six weeks I recieved a message from DPS saying that they had handed over the deposit to Gary Kay. When I asked why they told me that though it was indisute Gary Kay Properties had staryted making arrangements to get it. They did this by telling the DPS that they were no longer in contact with me and so requested the money. This was not true. The way they used for getting the deposit back is reserved for landlords who cre no longer in communciation with the previous tennent. I was in communication, he wanted the deposit, so he lied to the DPS. Now I am battling this out to get my depost back. Avoid at all costs. They are liars and cheats.
