Alex was really helpful for us for viewing the house. When we decided to take the property, the letting manager Daniel Murphy, took our debit card information and said to us that he will take the holding fee from this card and the property will be pulled off from the website and there will be no other viewing. Approximately an hour later, Daniel rang us and said that the landlady would like us to move in on the 10th of August, but both our current lease won't finish until end of August. We then asked him that if it is possible to negotiate with the landlady to push the moving date to the 15th of August. Then Alex contacted us and said the landlady is restrict for the moving date, and asked if we could increase the rent in order to compensate the delay of moving in. We offered to increase the rent by 30 pounds per month in order to move in around the 18th of August. He then contacted the landlady and said that she sounds very happy with this offer but she is current busy and will get back to us later. Alex also mentioned that this is very promising and suggested us not viewing any other houses and wait for his response.

We waited for a whole day the next day. Called them in the morning and Alex said to us that the landlady is current on a flight back to London, will give us more information in the afternoon. Then Daniel rang us around 6pm, obviously we did not view any other houses in the whole day. He then said to us there is a much better offer than ours, higher rent, earlier moving in date. He asked us to give him a better offer to bid for the property. We asked him if you have taken our debit card detail for the holding fee, why there comes another offer after us. Daniel then said, I only took your information and did not charge you.

We both felt that the way they are handling this is very dishonest. They agreed with us to help us to negotiate with the landlady but at the meantime, show the properties to other people and asked us for higher price of the rent later.

We highly disapprove this agency for letting.
