Comment on agent fees

I was definitely satisfied with the fees I paid through this agent. The monthly rent amount for my flat was initially quite a way over my budget, but I knew the flat itself was right for me. I took my dilemma back to Townends, and after a little negotiation between them, my landlord and myself, they had secured the flat for me at a rent amount of ‚£25pcm less than the asking price. Given that this was still over my initial budget, they also waivered the referencing fees for me (‚£60), and although they didn't promise me free referencing in writing, they honoured their word. I wouldn't say that the other fees (deposit, admin fees, etc) were cheap, (although the deposit obviously depends on the property), but I would certainly say that they are competitive, and no higher than would be expected.
