Stay away unless you have energy to argue common sense points. Basic principles of fair dealings are turned against you. I was unfortunate enough to rent through these people. when I moved in, inventory clearly said that the grass is too long and needs mowing. On moving out, I thought to myself - I am busy with moving, there is no need to cut the grass now, they cannot argue about this. Wrong. They had the cheek to plan taking the money off my deposit. Apparently some £60 for cutting not even 200 sqft lawn, which I said I would do if they insist on it. Also, we paid £600 of our own money for new carpet as the old one smelled of dog excrement despite them stating it has been cleaned properly (right! and cleaned under the carpet?) and allegedly there was a stain on the new carpet and to clean this one it was supposedly about £150.
We gave written notice to a certain date 31st of the month - estate agents emailed they were on holidays at that time and later one of the ladies rang me and told me to drop the keys to their mailbox. Anytime during the first week I was told. They will inspect the property when they are back. Hear hear, I dropped the keys on Friday 5th (as I moved to a different area 25 miles away and saw no need to drag myself there during the working week). And now I have received a letter from Council that I owe them money to the 5th of that month. These great estate agents told council I am eligible for c tax until 5th as I returned them keys on the 5th. How convenient I was not told this by email.
Make up your own mind on this, but rest assured. always have the slightest thing in writing with these people as they will try little tricks.
At the end and some heated debate from my side carpet cleaning was paid by a new tenant as he clearly saw the point I was making and said our care of the house was exemplary and he benefits from that.
The money for "extended" council tax were paid by me as I see no further point communicating with Vizors. God knows what they said to utility companies and what other bills may I expect.
I guess expecting people to behave fairly nowadays is a weakness that does not pay off.
