Firstly my wife and i were selling our first bought property the agent oliver was brilliant and sold the house within 2 weeks for the full asking price even after it had fallen through once this was all still in a 2 week period so happy with that everything seemed to be going smooth right up until the end where the company started lying to us about when the sale was going to be completed and the money come through to our banks
Because we were relocating there was a gap between our earnings and this wasnt a problem as we were told that the sale would complete on the 26th of june 2015 however that didnt happen so with us being behind in our wages because of our new job we had to secure a personnal loan to cover the cost of the mortgage we still had to pay although we had moved out into tempoary accommodation leaving us pritty much homeless because they said they were going to complete when they were lying
As of today its 16th july 2015 and we have still not completed yet apparently were waiting for funds to be released that should have taken just 5 days 15 days later were still waiting!!
Then with the buying of our new house were using the mortage advisor (Chawley Soper) at first he appeard to be quite clued up and realised that we wanted to speed everything up as much as possible however miss-selling us lifetime mortgage advice for £500 which once we had realised and tried to claim back and was told it was non refundable was just the begining after that he tried selling us life insurance that we already had and home insurance that we currently had and could transfer to our new house but we still had letters coming through saying thanks for joining us.
After all this the working relationship changed drammaticly and we were hardly kept in the loop unless we contacted connells ourselves
Not only that we recently changed our mortgage advisor to a michelle in the andover branch who has been more helpful and contacted us more than Chawley Soper ever had she explained what was going on and why and then told us our case hadnt been updated for over 3 weeks the last time we had spoken to Chawley he had reassured us that there was nothing more that he needed to do with the case again this was a lie
Not only had he missold us lifetime mortgage advice he was now not giving his advice or even willing to complete his job that a case was still ongoing we have been both selling and buying since the begining April 2015 and were now in mid july and still ongoing
I would strongly advise to avoid amesbury branch if possible and spread the word about Chawley so the some doesnt happen to someone else!!
What agent could do to change your mind?
Be honest
Explain everything
Complete there job as its there job
