What a disgusting experience we had today with this agent, I left their office feeling sick and so angry that I don't ever want to see their faces again.
We went to view what we found was a lovely property and showed our interest as soon as we got in, we both simply fell in love with it. We asked the agent if anyone else was viewing it and since we were told 2 other people were viewing it we said we wanted to take it. I had mentioned earlier that I wanted to know if the local schools were good so I was advised to go away, check about the schools and that all tenants interested at the end of the day would be referred to the landlord.
30min later I called the office and was asked to go in to provide more information, as we were waiting we realised that the couple who viewed this property after us were also being seen by one of the agents, my heart dropped when I saw them taking their bank card out!!!! Still we were asked a lot of questions about our personal circumstances and were told that the couple next to us were also interested but we would all be referred to the landlord.
At this point I asked if my card was needed, I was told no as it would mean that they would have to give me a refund if we weren't the chosen tenants. I asked why the couple who wanted the same property gave a card payment, at this point the answer was that they were the first ones to show interest!!!! They lied to our faces, I would have felt better if the agent showing the property to us simply said that he didnt want to rent the property to us or that they apologised that we were given the wrong information and that the property had been taken!!!
